Urban Soul
An official music video for soul singer Andre Cross — one night, one stage, and a camera that never looks away.
Overview
A Performance You Can Feel Through the Screen
Andre Cross came to us with a track about his city and a simple brief: no storyline, no actors — just the song, the stage and the sweat. We built the video around a single live-take philosophy, shooting the full performance across two nights with four cameras, haze, and a lighting design that moves with the arrangement.
The edit cuts on the drums, not the dialogue — every downbeat lands on a new angle — while the grade pushes deep blues and hot skin tones so the whole film feels like 1 a.m. in a packed club. Our sound team finished the production audio against the studio master so the live energy survives without losing broadcast polish.
The Challenge
Shooting a live performance without an audience risks feeling empty. We solved it with scale and movement: slow dolly pushes through haze, a crane for the choruses, and handheld cameras inside the band so the viewer stands on stage, not in the seats.
The Approach
Night one captured wide masters and lighting passes; night two went tight — hands, strings, breath on the microphone. Cutting both nights together gave us the precision of a planned shoot with the electricity of a real show.
